Although Aberdour is a small village it has much to offer, the village has quaint narrow streets, historic buildings, hotels, b&b’s, restaurants, art gallerys, gift shops, and two award winning beaches. Aberdour’s Silver Sands beach is to the East side of the village, and is a European Union ‘Blue Flag Award’ winner. The Black Sands beach has achieved ‘Seaside Award.’ status; it is rockier and popular with visitors exploring the rock caves. Close by is the Hawkcraig an area used for rock-climbing. The Aberdour Festival is a very popular yearly festival, which runs from late July to early August and features musical events, sporting events, children's shows and the famous ‘Poems and Pints’ evening. ![]() aberdour

The name Aberdour means ‘River Mouth of the Dour.’ The Dour Burn (River Dour) formed the scenic natural harbour. Looking south over the Firth of Forth you can see Island of Inchcolm, and Edinburgh. |
